The MBMC Racing Story

MBMC Racing is a family-driven youth motorsports team based in Mooresville, North Carolina, competing in quarter midget racing throughout the Southeast and across the country.

At the center of the team is 8-year-old driver Maclan Moreau, who competes in the NASCAR Youth Series and other local, regional, and national quarter midget events. 

But MBMC Racing has never been about simply putting a race car on the track.

For our family, racing is a platform — one that challenges us, brings us together, creates lasting relationships, and gives us an opportunity to represent the people and businesses who choose to be part of the journey.

Our Mission

Use racing as a platform to develop character, strengthen family, inspire perseverance, and build meaningful relationships with people and businesses who believe in pursuing excellence together.

This mission guides how we approach competition, relationships, partnerships, and the way we represent ourselves both at and away from the racetrack.

A Family Built Around Racing

MBMC stands for Matt, Becca, Maclan, and Caileigh — our family.

What started as an opportunity for Maclan to experience motorsports quickly became something all four of us could build together.

Race weekends mean early mornings, long drives, late nights in the garage, countless adjustments, victories worth celebrating, difficult days that test us, and experiences we would never have shared without racing.

Every member of our family plays a role.

Whether we are preparing equipment in the shop, traveling to another state, working through a difficult race weekend, celebrating with friends in the pits, or simply spending hours together on the road, racing has created an environment where our family grows together.

That family-first foundation remains at the center of everything MBMC Racing does.

Meet Maclan

Maclan Moreau is an 8-year-old third-grade student and youth race car driver from Mooresville, North Carolina.

He competes in asphalt quarter midget racing in the Junior Honda and Junior 160 classes, racing throughout the year in events that range from weekly club competition to major regional and national races.

Maclan's home track is North Carolina Quarter Midget Association Speedway in Salisbury, North Carolina, where he competes in the NCQMA Championship Series and other club events. His schedule also takes him to tracks throughout the Southeast, Midwest, and beyond as part of the NASCAR Youth Series, Dixie Shootout Series, Midwest Thunder Series, and other premier quarter midget events.

Over the course of a season, MBMC Racing participates in more than 40 race events, giving Maclan the opportunity to compete against talented young drivers from across the country while continuing to develop both on and off the racetrack.

In 2026, Maclan was also selected for the Petty Performance EDGE Program, an initiative designed to support and develop promising young racers as they continue progressing through motorsports.

While results matter and every race weekend begins with the goal of competing at the highest level possible, our measure of success goes beyond trophies.

We want Maclan to learn how to prepare, how to compete with integrity, how to respond when things do not go his way, how to respect the people around him, and how to keep working toward a goal even when progress is difficult.

Those lessons are ultimately why we race.

Racing With Purpose

Motorsports naturally teaches competition, but we believe it can teach much more.

It teaches preparation when nobody is watching.

It teaches perseverance when the result does not match the effort.

It teaches humility when things go well and resilience when they do not.

It teaches the importance of relationships, sportsmanship, responsibility, and showing up prepared to give your best.

Those are lessons we want Maclan to carry far beyond the racetrack.

Our faith is also an important part of how we approach those experiences. We believe racing gives us opportunities to grow, serve others, build relationships, and keep the results of any individual race in perspective.

Winning is something we pursue.

Character is something we refuse to compromise.

More Than a Race Team

MBMC Racing competes in one of the most unique environments in youth sports.

Race weekends bring together drivers, families, teams, manufacturers, businesses, and fans for hours — and often days — at a time. The pit area becomes a community, and the relationships built there extend well beyond the racetrack.

That environment has allowed MBMC Racing to grow into something larger than a traditional youth race team.

We are building a family motorsports brand centered on authentic storytelling, meaningful relationships, and shared values.

Through competition, race-day experiences, social media, photography, video, community events, and the everyday story behind our racing program, we provide the businesses we work with an opportunity to become part of that story in a genuine way.

We do not view those relationships simply as logos placed on a race car.

We call them brand partnerships because the best relationships create value on both sides.

Our partners become part of the equipment we use, the experiences we share, the places we travel, and the story our audience follows throughout the season.

Have Faith

Faith is foundational to our family and to MBMC Racing.

The phrase #HaveFaith comes from our friends at Faith In The Point Birddogs.  It has become part of our identity and appears throughout our racing program as a constant reminder to maintain perspective through both success and adversity.

We cannot control every result.

We cannot predict where every opportunity will lead.

What we can control is how we prepare, how we treat people, how we respond when things become difficult, and whether we remain grateful for the opportunity to participate.

For us, having faith means trusting something bigger than the result shown on the scoreboard.

Looking Ahead

We are proud of what MBMC Racing has become, but we believe we are still in the early chapters of the story.

Our goals are to continue developing Maclan as both a driver and a young man, compete at increasingly high levels of motorsports, strengthen the relationships surrounding our program, and continue building MBMC Racing into one of the most authentic and respected family brands in grassroots racing.

Where racing ultimately takes us remains to be seen.

What matters most is how we get there.

We will continue to work hard, compete with purpose, value the people who make the journey possible, and use every opportunity this sport gives us to grow together as a family.

Because for MBMC Racing, the finish line has never been the whole story.
